My 2026 Q3 Reading List

My Q3 reads are ordered by category/genre in the hopes of making it easier for you to find one or two books that you're eager to dive into.

  • #35 is one of my favorite re-reads for refreshment of my spirit and attitude

  • #38 is one of the best marriage books I've ever read

 Children’s Fiction:

As I shared in my Q1 and Q2 reading lists, I recently found my childhood books at the bottom of a trunk and decided that it was time to pass them on to my nieces and nephews, so I’ve been reading through them to decide who to send them to.

2026 Book 30: The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

I hadn’t remembered what a fun adventure this book is – highly imaginative!

2026 Book 31: The Gift by R. Kent Hughes

The artwork in this book is wonderful and the story is timeless.

2026 Book 32: The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams

Made my heart long for every human to experience deep love.

2026 Book 33: Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter

These stories were strange and kind of macabre but not in a good fairy tale way, like the Grimm stories.

Soul Care/Personal Development:

2026 Book 34: The Understory by Lore Wilbert

Lore is one of my favorite follows on Substack. She is candid about grief, loss, and disappointment. I don’t always agree with her, but she wrestles deeply, so I know I’m getting more than reaction. This book was beautiful and thoughtful. Highly recommended for all whom nature is a pathway to spiritual experience.

2026 Book 35: Gift from the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh

This is one of my go-to books when I need help quieting my inner restlessness. Even though the words are now over 70 years old, the experiences and feelings she writes about have a relevance to today that is comforting and soothing.

2026 Book 36: The God of the Garden by Andrew Peterson

I loved Andrew’s book about community, that was on my 2021 reading list. His poetic style brought me back to this book about trees and nature – it made me so grateful to live somewhere that I can go for walks year-round.

Professional Development:

2026 Book 37: Start with Yourself by Emma Grede

This is a great refresher on all things personal leadership AND business leadership from a woman’s perspective.

Marriage/Relationships:

2026 Book 38: A Lifelong Love by Gary Thomas

I’ve read a lot of marriage books over the years, and I can confidently say that this is one I will read again. If your spouse feels more like a roommate, this would be a worthwhile read.
